Hyatt Vacation Club at Piñon Pointe Review

We recently stayed three nights at Hyatt Vacation Club at Piñon Pointe in Sedona and were impressed with the property overall. This is a villa‑style resort that worked well for our family and served as a great base for hiking, dining, and walking around Uptown Sedona.

About the Property

Hyatt Vacation Club at Piñon Pointe is located in the heart of Sedona’s red rock landscape, within walking distance of restaurants, coffee shops, galleries, and easy access to scenic hikes and attractions. The location makes it convenient to explore Sedona without driving everywhere.

The resort offers a mix of studio, one‑bedroom, and larger villa units with kitchenettes or full kitchens, living areas, and private outdoor space.

Our Room

We stayed in a studio unit, which was a bit small but worked well for our family. It was clean, comfortable, and had all the essential amenities we needed, including a small kitchenette and seating area.

Some notes about the room:

  • The studio size was cozy, which is typical for this property’s smaller units.
  • It was adequate for our needs, but larger families or anyone planning to spend a lot of time in the room might prefer a one‑bedroom or larger unit.
  • Our room did not have much of a view, but other units do have views of the red rocks or the surrounding area. Views vary by location within the property.

Resort Amenities and Activities

One of the highlights of Piñon Pointe was the outdoor pool and hot tub area. It was a great place to relax after a long day of hiking or exploring the area.

Other amenities and activities available on site included:

  • Tennis court
  • Table tennis and billiards
  • Barbecue grills and picnic areas
  • Fire pits
  • Fitness center
  • Concierge services
  • Laundry facilities

These features give guests options for entertainment and relaxation beyond the basics. The resort also offers planned activities that can be fun for families.

Dining and Nearby Options

There is no formal sit‑down restaurant at Piñon Pointe itself, but the property is connected to The Shops at Piñon Pointe, which includes several convenient dining options. Wildflower Bread Company is right next door and worked well for breakfast, lunch, or a casual dinner.

Nearby restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance include:

  • Broome and Orchard
  • Hideaway House
  • The Vault Uptown
  • Creekside Sedona
  • Vespa Healthy Italian Cafe Sedona
  • Wildcraft Kitchen
  • The Secret Garden Cafe
  • Coffee Pot Restaurant

There are many more excellent dining choices a short walk or quick drive away, including popular spots for dinner and brunch.

Location and Convenience

One of the strengths of Piñon Pointe is its location. It is within walking distance of downtown Sedona shops and restaurants, and the free parking made coming and going simple.

The staff throughout the resort were friendly and helpful. From check‑in to check‑out, we felt well cared for and observed that the property felt well managed and organized.

What We Liked

  • The outdoor pool and hot tub area provided a comfortable place to unwind after active days.
  • The villa‑style accommodations with kitchen space were helpful for preparing simple meals and snacks.
  • The location made it easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and trails.
  • Resort amenities such as grills, fitness center, and fire pits added value beyond just a place to sleep.
  • Parking was straightforward, and staff were friendly and accommodating.

Things to Consider

  • The studio units are on the smaller side, which may feel tight for extended stays or larger families.
  • Not all rooms have scenic views; our unit did not have a notable view, though other units do.
  • There is no on‑site full‑service restaurant, so most meals require walking to nearby restaurants or driving a short distance.
  • As a vacation club property, traditional hotel perks such as elite upgrades or included breakfast are not guaranteed.

Final Thoughts

Overall, Hyatt Vacation Club at Piñon Pointe was a comfortable and convenient place to stay for our trip. The location, amenities, and villa‑style rooms made it more than just a place to sleep. If you are looking for a family‑friendly base with space to relax, good access to the outdoors, and easy access to Sedona’s shops and dining, this property is a solid option.
