Fire Pho Huntington Beach Review: The Fire Bowl and Kindling Bowl

Oct 25, 2026 | Restaurants, California, Food & Drink, Orange County, United States | 0 comments

Fire Pho is a small pho restaurant in Huntington Beach that feels like a family-run neighborhood spot, and the food is excellent. We stopped in for lunch, ordered the Fire Bowl and the Kindling Bowl, and both were some of the best pho we have had in a while. This Fire Pho Huntington Beach review covers what to order, prices and what to know before you go.

Quick Summary

  • Address: 7451 Edinger Ave, Suite 102, Huntington Beach, CA 92647, at the corner of Edinger and Gothard near Bella Terra
  • Hours: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Wednesday through Monday. Closed Tuesdays.
  • Phone: (657) 227-3398
  • What we ordered: the Fire Bowl and the Kindling Bowl, plus a Vietnamese iced coffee
  • Prices: pho bowls from $13 to $18 (as of late October)
  • Best for: a quick, filling, reasonably priced bowl of pho away from the beach crowds
  • Good sign: plenty of locals eating there when we visited

A Small Spot With a Local Crowd

Fire Pho sits in a newer building on Edinger Avenue, a short drive inland from the beach and close to the Bella Terra shopping center. It is a small, casual place. You order at the counter, grab a table and they bring your bowls out. There are a few tables outside too.

What stood out to us was the feel of the place. It seems like a small family-run restaurant, and the people working there were friendly and welcoming. There were also a lot of locals eating there, which is always a good sign when you are trying a new restaurant in a beach town.

The Pho Menu

The pho menu is built around how many proteins you want. Pick your bowl size, choose your proteins and pick regular or flat rice noodles.

BowlProteinsPrice
The Spark1 protein$13
The Kindling Bowl2 proteins$14
The Flame Bowl3 proteins$15
The Fire Bowl5 proteins: beef ball, rare steak, tendon, brisket and beef rib$18
Veggie Bowlbeef broth with bok choy, broccoli, mushrooms and tofu$14

Protein choices include beef ball, rare steak, brisket, tendon, chicken, shrimp and tofu. Beef rib or filet mignon cost $2 extra. Beyond pho, the menu has bún bò Huế, garlic noodles, fried rice, wings, egg rolls and spicy wontons.

What We Ordered

The Fire Bowl ($18)

The Fire Bowl is the signature bowl, loaded with beef ball, rare steak, tendon, brisket and a big beef rib. The broth is the star. It is rich, beefy and clean tasting, and the restaurant says it simmers its beef bone broth for 22 hours. The beef rib was tender and fell right off the bone. If you love beef pho, order this.

The Kindling Bowl ($14)

The Kindling Bowl lets you pick two proteins. We went with shrimp and chicken, which made for a lighter bowl that was still full of flavor. The shrimp were plump, and the chicken was tender. It comes with the usual plate of bean sprouts, Thai basil and lime, so you can build it the way you like.

Vietnamese Iced Coffee

We added a Vietnamese iced coffee, strong and sweet with condensed milk. It is a good pick-me-up before heading back to the beach.

Tips for Visiting Fire Pho

  • Check the day. Fire Pho is closed on Tuesdays.
  • Go for the broth. If it is your first visit, the Fire Bowl shows off what they do best.
  • Pair it with the beach. It is about a 10 to 15 minute drive to Main Street and the pier. Our Huntington Beach guide covers parking, the pier and where to watch the sunset.
  • Skip the beach parking hassle. Being inland, parking here is much easier than near the pier.

Is Fire Pho Worth It?

Yes. Fire Pho is the kind of place we hope to find when we travel: small, friendly, fairly priced and serving food that is better than it needs to be. Both bowls were excellent, and seeing locals at the tables told us we were in the right place. It is a great lunch or dinner stop on a Huntington Beach day.
