Privacy Policy

What we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Last updated October 2026

This policy explains what information WizTrip.com collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. “We” and “us” means WizTrip, a family travel blog.

Information you give us

  • Contact form: your name, email address and message, so we can reply.
  • Comments: your name, email and comment. WordPress also stores your IP address and browser details to help catch spam. Your email is never shown publicly.

Information collected automatically

  • Analytics: We use Google Analytics and Matomo to see which pages people read, how long they stay, roughly where they're visiting from (country or city level), and what device and browser they use. These tools use cookies. We use this to understand which posts are helpful, not to identify you personally.
  • Server logs: Our hosting provider keeps standard logs (IP address, browser, pages requested, time) for security and to keep the site running.

Affiliate links and partner scripts

Some links on WizTrip are affiliate links, and our pages load a script from Travelpayouts, our affiliate network, that manages those links. When you click an affiliate link, the travel company on the other end, such as a tour or booking site, may set a cookie to record that you came from WizTrip. That's how they credit us with a commission if you book. Once you're on their site, their own privacy policy applies. Our affiliate disclosure explains how we choose what to recommend.

How we use your information

  • To reply to your messages and comments
  • To run, secure and improve the site
  • To understand which content is most useful
  • To earn affiliate commissions when you book through our links

We don't sell your personal information.

Cookies and your choices

Cookies are small files your browser stores. You can block or delete them in your browser settings, and the site will still work. To opt out of Google Analytics on every site, you can use Google's opt-out browser add-on. You can read how Google handles data in its privacy policy.

How long we keep information

We keep contact messages only as long as we need them to reply and for our own records. Comments stay with the post they were left on unless you ask us to remove them. Analytics data is kept according to each tool's retention settings.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California), you may have the right to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it. To make a request, use our contact page. We'll respond as soon as we can.

Children's privacy

WizTrip is written for parents and adult travelers. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. When we write about our own family, we don't share names or show faces.

Links to other websites

Our posts link to hotels, restaurants, attractions and booking sites. We're not responsible for how those sites handle your information, so please check their privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
